Apple iPhone 6 sat with HTC One (M8) and iPhone 5S

If you liked the model snaps of the iPhone 6 yesterday, have I a treat for you today.

Expect many snaps that purport to be of the — allegedly waterproof and packing near field communication tech — iPhone 6 but these look pretty good to me.

In the image below you can see what is said to be Apple’s next smartphone pictured next to the iPhone 5s and the HTC One (M8).

Taking a handful of salt, but just in case these do represent the real deal, it looks as though the iPhone 6 would be shorter than the recently released HTC flagship (probably due to the Taiwanese phone’s BoomSound speakers at either end).

There’s also a set of images comparing said iPhone 6 with the current Apple flagship, the iPhone 5S, from all possible angles.

I’ve included two of the images below, but there’s more to see here.

There are quite a lot of changes all of which have been well documented already such as the speakers, and repositioned power button.

Apple is believed to be finalising a deal to by Beats headphone maker Beats Electronics, the firm, founded by music producer Jimmy Iovine and the hip-hop star Dr Dre, which is best known for its distinctive headphones.

It is claimed a deal could be announced within days – and mark Apple boss Tim Cook’s biggest ever acquisition.

Apple will acquire Beats’ streaming music service, which launched this year, and its audio equipment business, which includes its brand of headphones and audio equipment, according to a report in the Financial Times.

The Beats management team will report to Mr Cook, said people familiar with the deal. Apple and Beats declined to comment.

However, Apple boss Tim Cook said last month Apple was ‘on the prowl’ for more acquisitions, after buying 24 companies in the past 18 months and he was not averse to large acquisitions.

The potential $3.2 billion deal would mark Apple’s largest acquisition of another company ever. It is believed Apple is also interested in Beats expertise in developing wearable products and it edges closer to a much anticipated iWatch launch,

Apple executives Tim Cook and Eddy Cue have previously met with Iovine to discuss streaming music services and Apple and Beats have partnered up to sell Beats earphone products in Apple Retail stores.

Apple iWatch coming in September with UV sensor?

Apple is planning to launch the iWatch in Q3 2014 – probably September. This is according to a new report that states suppliers Quanta Computer, TPK and Richtek have been given orders to manufacturer specific parts for the device, which will see the Cupertino company enter the wearable tech market in a big way.

The news comes from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, which has previously been hit and miss with Apple rumours but what makes the latest whispers more interesting is that all the suppliers mentioned are based in Taiwan – EDN’s home ground – and have been linked with the iWatch before.

The paper says that Quanta Computer will handle manufacture of the smartwatch itself, while Richtek will supply the chipsets and TPK the touchpanel sapphire glass screens.

Furthermore, a report claims that Flexium Interconnect, Zhen Ding Technology Holding and Career Technology have all dispatched their flexible PCB samples (printed circuit board) to Cupertino for validation.

This report goes on to mention fairly large amounts of money these suppliers are willing to invest in order to ramp up production capacities for 2014 (Zhen Ding with $100 million, Flexium Interconnect with anywhere between $49.6-66.12 million and Career Technology with about $33 million) as far as Apple’s products are concerned.
